Details for Error code E01/0001

Short circuit in the console/faulty PSU

3 red lights

Details
Primary Error code:3 red lights 3 RLOD
E-Code / Secondary Error code:E01 (No Audio/Video) / 0001
Binary/Hex:00000001 / 0x01 -> 1
Known fixes:

1) Make sure your PSU is working and replace it if it isnt
2) Scan the mainboard and make sure that there is nothing that might short something out, like metal chipping, components, that move out of place while heatgunning, etc.
3) Replace MOSFETs and regulators that are known to cause it if they were blown
4) Check if the standby voltages are existent, if they are not at a certain area replace the parts in the area which are likely to be defective.
5) Reflow the CPU, HANA chip
In rare cases a reflow might also fix it.
6) X-Clamp replacement
The GPU heatsink might be shorting out if you screwed it in too tight...

Description:

This error can be triggered by a faulty power supply or a short in the console. The short is located near one of the main supply lines, so mostly not under the chips, it might also be a blown capacitor fuse or just a bridged contact. Also damaged DVD power cable.

chainsaw how do you that exactly ?

chainsaw on 2011-07-27 03:20:37 :

Can confirm DVD power cable from multiple instances. Check PSU first (easiest)
then try replacing the power cable to the DVD drive (the cable with white ends).
This can potentially save youa couple of hours, and maybe more often than you
might think.

I have replace Bad ANA Chip and I solve this problem.. If the power supply is ok
and the IC regulator and other is ok, then check ANA and replace.

ATTENTION: This is a tricky error!
We had a reflowed console go to this AFTER an e74 error, so we unplugged
everything,
read a little here on xbox-experts,
went back and plugged it in and BAM it's running perfectly,
++ hours of gaming on it now!

loose power connection!!

Colorado880 on 2011-05-26 05:30:05 :

Got this after installing some LEDs to the 12v power under the PSU. I fixed by
just adding some tape

where i can buy the mosfets ? i have the error 0001 and 0002 in another xbox is
the same fix ?

knowoneishome on 2011-01-26 05:00:50 :

Always check the Power Supply first!!! I replaced the mosfet's first and
reflowed second but it did not fix the problem. I tested the power supply in two
other consoles and got the 0001 error. The power supply light was always
orange...never turned red so I did not suspect it to be faulty...but it was.

You may get this error if you have not fully pushed the power cable into the
power port. Ensure the cable is pushed in as far as it can go (You will hear a
click in most cases when it's pushed far enough).

koriashi on 2010-11-04 05:25:18 :

ok, so im getting this error code but as SOON as I turn it on the power supply
clicks and flashes red for like a half second then goes back orange. I get no
fan or dvd action. I checked all over the motherboard and I didnt find anything
wrong. Idk if its the MOSFETS because I have no way of checking them. jus
wondering if anybody knows why the psu led just flashes one time and goes back
to orange.. thanks
